at 2011′s end…
December 3rd, 2011
We are playing three shows in the month of December, as means to celebrate a successful and eventful year! We recorded and released our EP “Married In The Mud’ in the early spring, and have had many successful video shoots/radio interviews/shows between then and now. It was a great year, and we all look forward to even more action in 2012. Visit our shows page for more information.
On Dec 29th, our last show of the year, we are playing as part of the Songwriter Sessions, hosted by Scenic Route Recordings at the Windup Space. This is a great venue, a great crew, and always a great event that we are honored to be a part of. I encourage everyone to try and make it to this show, as it will be a very unique performance and full of surprises. We are going to end 2011 with a bang!
As always, “like” us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. We really appreciate the support, and we love to offer fan ‘incentives’ from time to time. Have a safe and happy December everyone!

New shows announced, new videos coming soon
August 9th, 2011
Please visit the shows page to see all the new events. More will be posted soon, too!
The videos page is about to get very busy. I am putting the finishing touches on a brand new video that was a lot of fun to shoot. In addition, we also have a live video of “Prudence” produced by Springwood Productions. Expect those two videos in late August.
Bigger news: Our set at the Velvet Lounge was recorded, and will be used in conjunction with an interview I did last week, as part of a new set of tutorials geared towards video editors. There are two tutorials; one is for Apple FinalCut Pro, the other for Adobe Premiere! The video will accompany the books and will be streaming online (including this website) along with some still photos. Looking forward to a lot of (hopefully positive) press!
I’ve been having a lot of fun making videos as of late. Look for more to come throughout the Fall and Winter! Enjoy the end of Summer.

New Press!
June 13th, 2011
http://independentclauses.com/2011/06/quick-hits-minimus-the-poet/
“Minimus the Poet‘s five-song EP Married in the Mud will sound quite familiar to fans of the Avett Brothers. Minimus has similar ideas on songwriting: play rock on folky instruments, sing easily memorable memories, toss off a great riff here and there. Minimus even sounds like the lower of the Avett Brothers in singing tone; they both have the wry yet animated tone and booming mid-range voice.
The great riff comes in the title track, which is a rhythmic riff that interlocks with the drums for a very post-punk feel. It’s a really sweet aside, and it fits the no-holds-barred feel of the song.
The rest of the EP is less frantic than that rock song; “Drying Out” features accordion and familiar folk/country drum rhythms, while “Indigo” and “Poison” are mellow ruminations — the latter has a great instrumental break featuring subdued banjo and piano. The easy vocal and instrumental swagger of “Prudence” could have been ripped from Emotionalism; some may find the comparison as a downside, but if it’s an enjoyable tune, does it have to re-invent the wheel? I say no.
Minimus the Poet’s music will appeal to those who are fond of the hyper-kinetic folk of the Avett Brothers. He’s yet to establish a signature sound that sets him apart from the pack, but his songwriting skills show that he could do so if he continued to experiment with his craft and hone his solid voice and songwriting potential into something more.”

*NEW VIDEO* coming soon!
June 8th, 2011
I won’t spoil any surprises, but be on the lookout for some new media on the site by the end of June. I’ll give you a hint….. it’s a video. One more hint??? OK fine… it’s a video of Minimus the Poet. LAST HINT, alright? It’s a video of us… playing music.
I think I spoiled most of the surprise. Hope you dig it anyway, and I promise not to leak any more secret info about the video(s). Oops. Now you know there’s more than one… I’m signing off before I cough up my social security number on accident…

Post-Release update
May 16th, 2011
The EP release show was a roaring success. Thanks to everyone that stuck it out – our show did not start on time due to venue BS… all the same, I was deeply moved and impressed by how many people stayed long into the night to sing with us!
“Married In The Mud” is now officially RELEASED. You can find it on iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, and most other digital distributors. Conveniently enough, it’s also available right here on the website! Click the MUSIC tab above and give it a listen. Physical CDs will be available at all of our shows. Email me at bookingMTP@gmail.com if you would like to order some. We can negotiate payment and shipping that way, too!
We are currently working on some fun projects… I don’t want to spill ALL the beans but I will tell you that we are doing a radio interview/performance later this Spring. Look for a video to be posted here shortly afterwards.
Check back frequently, I’m doing my best to keep updating regularly. Go O’s!
